CHARITY: from the Greek Word agapen.  From agapeo; love, i.e. Affection or benevolence; specially a love-feast.

1. A strong feeling of affection and concern toward another person, as that arising from kinship or close friendship.
2. A feeling of devotion or adoration toward God.

What is the importance of "these things"?

"For if 'these things'... (DILIGENCE, FAITH, VIRTUE, KNOWLEDGE, SELF-CONTROL, PERSEVERANCE, GODLINESS, BROTHERLY KINDNESS, LOVE) be in you, and abound, they make you that you shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." (2 Peter 1:8)
