THE TRUTH BEHIND THE SCRIPTURE

There are those who SOW, that is," producing, yielding seed", as the Hebrew word says, in TEARS. This process of sowing in our daily lives should produce tears. An intense, deep connecting prayer of repentance towards God (and not your worldly sorrow) will produce tears.

This action of proper sowing will REAP a harvest of JOY in the future. The Hebrew for joy is a ringing cry of entreaty, supplication, in proclamation, or praise. Three scriptures that add some depth and meaning to Psalm 126:5 are:

Psalm 56:8 “Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?”

Galatians 6:9 "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not".

Hosea 10:12 "Sow for yourselves righteousness; Reap in mercy; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the LORD, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you". It takes effort to produce spiritual "fruit". What is righteousness that we must sow? "My tongue shall speak of thy word: for all thy commandments are righteousness". -Psalm 119:172
