THE TRUTH BEHIND THE SCRIPTURE
The Hebrew word for DELIGHT is better understood when reading the other meanings which are "soft, be delicate, be dainty". By having a gentle and delicate way of speaking to God in prayer, not demanding or arrogant, communication is pleasant and enjoyable to God.
Our DESIRES, or as the Hebrew translates, a "request or petition" are heard by God because we are "soft and delicate" when praying to God.
Our HEART represents, in Hebrew, the inner man, mind, will, our thinking. Our requests must be in sync with God's will for us. All prayers should be made with the understanding that requests be answered according to God's will. He knows what is best for us. There was a famous Country and Western song back in the early 1990's titled "Thank God for Unanswered Prayer".
An important scripture to remember is John 9:31, "Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth". Our part is learning and doing what is God's will.
