THE TRUTH BEHIND THE SCRIPTURE
If one was to pick a single verse to be the most important verse in the Bible, Deuteronomy 30:19 would have to be it. This is the starting point. Choose life and this opens the door with the question, "What do I have to do after I choose life?" The word "choose" is defined as "to select freely, of one's own accord, with freedom from external control and after consideration, without restraint or reservation".
Both Heaven and Earth are called to be witnesses against us. One of the definitions of the Hebrew word for "witness" is "warning, exhort or enjoin solemnly". The very existence of the quadrillions of stars and galaxies, plus the planet Earth we walk on, leaves us with no excuse if we fail to acknowledge the existence of a Creator God. The heavens and the earth are witnesses, proclaiming the very existence of a Creator God.
Choosing life includes choosing the WAY OF LIFE that leads to eternal life.
The two choices this Creator God has set before us are "life and blessings" or "death and cursings". LIfe means "Eternal Life" and death means "Eternal Death" in the "Lake of Fire", not eternal life in a place of torture.
"And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death" -Revelation 20:14
