Psalm 55:22 is another confidence builder in the faithfulness of the Eternal God, who cannot lie. We are to cast or to throw, hurl or fling our BURDENS upon the Eternal. He will then SUSTAIN us which, in Hebrew, also means to support and nourish. The word also means to measure and calculate. Our reaction to the burden is an important part of the process of being relieved of the burdens.
The key to the verse is the meaning of the word RIGHTEOUS which, in Hebrew, also translates as just, lawful, righteous (in government); righteous (in conduct and character) righteous (as justified and vindicated by God) . What is the Bible definition of righteousness?
"My tongue shall speak of thy word: for all thy commandments are righteousness." -Psalm 119:172
The qualification for being protected from being MOVED which, in Hebrew, is defined as to totter, shake, slip, to be shaken, be moved, be overthrown or to be greatly shaken, IS TO BE RIGHTEOUS, which is defined as keeping the Eternal's commandments.
