THE STORY BEHIND THE SHIRT

A new study soon to be published in Psychological Science will make the claim that emotions can be controlled by facial expressions. Supposedly, by injecting botox into the forehead, you will not be able to frown, therefor eliminating the negative emotion associated with frowning.   Smiling would be a positive action to improve your emotions, IF, it is from the heart, and not contrived or an act to deceive your real emotion.  Common sense teaches us that our facial expressions are an outward expression of our emotions, which is a powerful part of verbal communication.  Our facial expressions add to our words, much like adding exclamation points or question marks, visually, to our verbal expressions.  The expression on our face, of sincerity or insincerity, love, or disgust, or hate, boredom or excitement, ALL send a message louder than words.  The Psych Gurus have it completely backwards.

So the message of the design is... we can project "sunbeams" or we can project "moonbeams'.
